blue and white teacup pincushion
Everything tastes better when you use pretty china dishes or, in this case, teacups. Imagine afternoon tea with a cup of good tea, or a delicious special coffee if that's your poison. There may be some freshly baked scones (proper English ones, crisp on the outside, soft within and studded with raisins) served with some homemade strawberry jam and whipped cream. This is something I indulge in every now and then - but I drink the tea every day! This teacup pincushion is inspired by my love of pretty cups and mugs and my small collection of blue and white china. The top is rich dark blue so that the white cup really stands out. On the cup I've appliquéd some tiny hand cut felt flowers and embroidered leafy stems with variegated blue thread. The side is pretty Spring green with some more flowers and leaves. The underside is light blue.
This pincushion measures 3.5inches in diameter and stands approximately 2.25inches tall. It is made from 100% wool felt and stuffed with premium polyfil. My "About The Maker" page has more information about the materials I use and why I use them.
