The Quiet Forest embroidered hoop art - 4inch
This is a special little piece of embroidered art. It was inspired by a recent walk in the forest in the Sierra Nevada, early in the morning when all was quiet and still. The embroidery is mounted in a four inch hoop and the back is neatly finished with gray felt. I've embellished the back with a tiny red and white toadstool and embroidered fern frond. The embroidery is worked on black linen and I've appliquéd a tree stump using hand dyed felted wool with a subtle woven herringbone pattern. The tree has a magical little fairy door with leafy hinges. Around the base of the tree stump are some red and white toadstools, bleeding heart flowers (seen in forest on my hike), bluebells (a nod to walks in the woods when we lived in England) and lots of verdant green leaves both embroidered and appliquéd felt. This piece can be hung on a wall (jute twine for hanging is included) or placed on a shelf or mantel.
