Fern's Cottage - three dimensional version!

Every pincushion tells a story.

This is a three dimensional version of Fern's cottage. It has the same living roof and a lovely red and white mushroom chimney on the top!

Fern"s cozy little cottage in the Enchanted Forest has a living roof which means that her cottage looks completely different according to the season. At the moment, it is richly hued, fading from greens to brown to gold. It looks like Fern is hone with her fireplace stoked and candles lit as there is a warm glow at the window. Outside the cottage are some red and white mushrooms which Fern uses to balance herself while she puts on her rain boots before going foraging in the Forest. I've used a hand dyed felted wool fabric for the walls of Fern's cottage because it has a lovely pattern and texture reminiscent of warm stone. There are mushrooms, flowers and leafy stems. Inside the base of the cottage, I've placed a piece of thick, sturdy stabilizer.

This pincushion measures 2.5 inches in diameter and stands approximately
4.75 inches tall. It is stuffed with premium polyester fill and I've used 100% wool felt.
